Delicious nutritious and loaded with a ton of vitamins and minerals. Kale is especially high in vitamin K, vitamin A and vitamin C (just to name a few), is a great antioxidant, is anti-inflammatory and helps your body detox.
If you are like me, you are great at picking this amazing superfood at the grocery store, farmers market or picking it right out of your garden but a day in the fridge and it is limp, lifeless, and not so appetizing.
Here’s how to make your kale last for at least a week in your fridge and only takes a few minutes of work to revive the withered soggy greens.
Rip the leaves off the spines and drop into a sink of cold water let sit in the water for at least a half hour to an hour if it is really limp.
Transfer dry leaves to a large clean Ziploc bag
Close bag leaving a little tiny space for air transfer
Place bag in fridge. Now you have this superfood at your fingertips and can easily add to your smoothies, steam for dinner or to make a delicious salad.
Try it and let me know if it worked for you or if you have any questions.
